How God is using a once homeless family to transform lives

A young family’s fall into homelessness

Ramona’s husband spiraled into grief after his father died. He drank, missed work, lost his job and they lost their only income.

Ramona and her husband found themselves sleeping in their car with their 5-year-old and newborn baby. They kept the heater running because it was cold. And they barely slept.

Living quickly became surviving. Just making a bottle for the baby involved finding a convenience store to get fresh water and warm the bottle.

Ramona and her family found the help they desperately needed at Union Gospel Mission: a safe place to stay, job training, child care and so much more!

Today, God is using this once homeless family to transform other lives in the Twin Cities.

Watch their story and see how getting help when they needed it most transformed their family.
