The gift of Christmas

You give hope for Christmas

While Christmas is supposed to be a time of good cheer and celebration, there are members of our community who don’t look forward to the holiday season. Some of the stories you’ll hear at the Mission are tragic and the storytellers are filled with hurt or shame as they remember:

“[My children] did not believe it was Christmas because they didn’t have any presents or a tree. I spent all the money on alcohol and drugs.”

“I was ashamed…It led me to come up here and get a meal.”

“I was really into drug use…I ended up passing out on a bench on Christmas Day.”

“On Christmas Day it was one of the worst days of my life–I was up all night doing drugs. I was ashamed…It led me to come up here and get a meal.”

But you’ve given them hope for Christmas!

See how men and women who have found new life at Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities used to spend Christmas — and the difference in their lives today.
