Pam Stegora Axberg Named CEO

Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities’ (UGMTC) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Pamela Stegora Axberg as CEO, the organization’s tenth leader since it opened its doors in 1902. Ms. Axberg has served as UGMTC Interim CEO since July of 2020.

“These are pivotal times for cities around the country, including the Twin Cities, as we struggle to serve those experiencing homelessness, poverty, mental health issues, and addiction. The pandemic’s impact has increased the number of people in need,” says Board Chair Kathryn Stark. “There is much to do. Pam, with her extensive healthcare expertise in medical and behavioral operations coupled with her lifelong commitment to nonprofit organizations, is ideally suited to help us address growing needs in our Minneapolis and St. Paul communities.”

Ms. Axberg most recently served as a Senior Vice President at UnitedHealthcare. During her 14 years there she held leadership roles working to transform interactions with healthcare systems.

“We are committed to UGMTC’s mission to provide Christ-centered, discipleship-oriented pathways and programs that restore dignity and wholeness to men, women and children,” says Board Vice Chair Ross Allen. “We are excited to see how God uses Pam’s executive and servant leadership to advance this great ministry.”

“I have a deep appreciation for UGMTC’s mission and vision, and great respect for its board and staff,” says Ms. Axberg. “Doing God’s work isn’t easy. It requires a team of people using the unique skills He has given each of us. As Interim CEO, I have witnessed tireless commitment and resilience and I look forward to continuing this important work.”

Please join the UGMTC Board in welcoming our new CEO, Pamela Stegora Axberg.

To God be the glory!
