Prior to coming to Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities in 2020, Pam Stegora Axberg was a senior executive at UnitedHealthcare and Optum for over 14 years. She held several executive leadership roles, including managing national strategic partnerships, transforming the provider/patient experience, and national and international operations. Prior to joining UnitedHealthcare and Optum, she spent 20 years at Qwest Communications / US WEST where she was a Senior Vice President and Officer.

In addition to her corporate leadership roles, Pam is an advocate for the development of girls’ and women’s leadership. She has been involved in YWCA, serving as the YWCA USA Board of Directors Treasurer and former YWCA Minneapolis board chair. She was a Girl Scouts troop leader for over a decade. In recent years, she has received a variety of awards for her accomplishments including the Women’s Health Leadership Trust as the 2019 Mentor of the Year and the YWCA 2023 Kate Berman Leadership Award.

Pam has served on many boards including the Women Business Leaders in Healthcare Advisory Board, Girl Scouts River Valley, Junior Achievement and Topline Credit Union. She is currently a Councilmember for the City of New Brighton.

Pam earned her BA at St. Catherine University and her Master of Business Administration from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. She is a Public Policy Fellow from the Humphrey Institute at the University of Minnesota. She and her husband live in New Brighton, Minnesota, and have four adult children scattered throughout the country. Together they enjoy time at their cabin and training for their next adventure. She is a blue-ribbon winner at the Minnesota State Fair.
