Rick Kleven retired in 2020 as Vice President of Government Affairs at Thrivent. He worked with Congress and state governments to advance Thrivent’s mission and was honored in the U.S. House of Representatives. Previously, he served as Vice President of Corporate and Insurance Law. He has volunteered and served on the boards of many Twin Cities area organizations including Gilda’s Club, Person to Person, Finnegan’s, and the Minnesota Insurance and Financial Services Council (which he co-founded). He also volunteered as a Big Brother. Rick values building relationships, leading and contributing to collaborative teams, finding creative solutions to issues, and building a stronger community. He holds a B.A., Summa Cum Laude, from the University of Minnesota Duluth and a J.D., Cum Laude, from the University of Minnesota.
