Food and Shelter

At Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities, hope begins with a meal.  For the many people who lack food each day, the Mission provides meals, no questions asked.

At Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities, hope begins with a meal.  For the many people who lack food each day, the Mission provides meals, no questions asked.

At Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities, we feel called to feed the hungry and give shelter to the poor. In doing so, we fulfill the mission of compassion Jesus requires of us in Matthew 25:35:

“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.”

Free meals

A meal at the Mission is often the first step toward a new life. Our guests learn about our life-changing programs. Some choose to stay the night—and others join one of our programs so they can get off the streets for good.

Every day, we prepare thousands of meals for hungry and homeless men, women, and children in our community.

Safe shelter for men

Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities offers a safe night out of the elements all year long at our Bethel Hotel. Bethel Hotel offers:

  • Emergency shelter for 52 or more men a night
  • Transitional housing for men who work or seeking work while they seek permanent housing. Affordable dorms and private rooms available.
  • Discipleship program for men seeking to grow closer to God while they rebuild their lives.

Rooms are also provided for the men in our Christ Recovery Center.

Men living on campus have access to:

  • Meals
  • Showers
  • Laundry facilities
  • Case management
  • Mental health and medical care
  • Free clothing

We serve anyone who comes through our doors. Through these resources, men overcome their obstacles and gain self-sufficiency to live on their own again.

Safe shelter for women

Women seeking safety because of domestic violence, homelessness, or life instability can find shelter at the Mission’s Naomi Family Residence. NFR provides full-time programming for women and their children needing support and care.
