No matter who comes through our doors, Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities has one goal: to create disciples of Jesus Christ. We believe that the obstacles someone faces pale in comparison to his or her need for the life-saving power of Jesus in their lives.
Through all of our programs, we point people back to the power of the cross over sin, death, and destruction. We desire to encourage people to follow Ephesians 4:22-24 where the Apostle Paul tells us to:
“Put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.”
Discipleship for employees, residents, and guests
We encourage our employees, residents, and guests to become followers of Jesus Christ through the following activities:
Chapel. Volunteers and staff have led chapel services every night since 1902. Services include worship, sermons, prayer, and connection with others.
Bible Studies. Volunteers and staff members provide Bible studies during the day and evenings for our guests.
Devotions. Our programs encourage daily devotions so people can draw closer to God. The full-time programs for women and our Discipleship program for men require daily devotions.
Staff Spiritual Enrichment. The Chaplain’s Department produces devotions and offers activity that encourage spiritual growth among Mission staff.
We also provide a full-time program for men called Discipleship that provides Bible teaching, work therapy, education, and life skills.
Discipleship program
Since its inception in 2004, the Discipleship program at Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities has immersed men in the principles of God’s Word while building skills for a successful life. We believe that, if one has a right relationship with God, all other aspects of life will improve.
The program is full time, and residents live at the Union Gospel Mission Men’s Campus while in the program.
