Mental Health Services

Promoting health and wellness through free, on-site mental health therapy services for men, women, and children staying at the Mission and medical care for those experiencing homelessness in the community.

We care for the whole person—body, mind and soul. That’s why every program at Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities (UGMTC) includes professional mental health support for our guests and residents. Our on-site Mental Health Clinic provides easy access to mental health care and the opportunity for integration into each person’s overall support plan. Our staff is trauma-informed and credentialed to ensure the highest level of care.

We overcome barriers to mental health care by providing on-site professional therapists.

Our Mental Health Clinic offers:

  • Individual therapy
  • Group therapy
  • Intelligence, learning, neuropsychological and personality testing
  • Inter-disciplinary case management for all residents
  • Conversations about spiritual matters relating to emotional and physical health
  • Canine-assisted therapy

In addition, the Mental Health Services team trains UGMTC staff to be advocates and use best practices for the social and emotional care of all residents.

A medical team from Minnesota Community Care provides basic healthcare including prescriptions to our guests and residents in the Mental Health Clinic on Men’s Campus.

Mental Health Services Clinical Hours

The Mental Health Clinic located on Men’s Campus is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Closed 12–1 p.m.)

Give so they can thrive.

We know that the path to stability and independent living includes increased mental health. As we see guests and residents make progress toward hope and healing, it is only possible to continue because of the generosity of our donors.
