Gospel Hill Camp is an established resident camp located at Snail Lake in Shoreview, Minnesota. Our Camp is a Jesus-centered ministry dedicated to creating a safe and fun environment for children, youth and families of underserved communities.
Position Summary
The Day Camp Art Specialist is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing art projects during rotations and electives while maintaining a safe, fun and educational environment. All staff work together to model the love of Jesus and encourage the campers’ growth mentally, spiritually, emotionally, and socially
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, fun, and inclusive environment for all campers
- Actively participate and engage in staff spiritual enrichment activities including morning devotions
- Provide clear communication to campers regarding expectations, guidance procedures, and daily schedules
- Model patience, compassion, great listening and communication skills, Christian spirit, and the ability to relate to children and teens and other staff
- Prepare space to carry out art activities
- Plan and create art lesson plans with the Children’s Coordinator
- Create and lead engaging, creative, and relevant art projects that reflect the bible lessons
- Maintain a clean and organized craft room and closet
- Record current inventory and report future supply needs
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned
Minimum Job Requirements
- A strong candidate will be a High school graduate, preferably with at least one year of additional education. Previous experience working at a camp or working with youth is valued but not required. Hours are Monday-Friday, mid morning-early afternoon, roughly 3 hours/day.
- The Day Camp Art Specialist’s employment is from June 8, 2015 – August 14, 2015. Time off can be requested through the Camp Coordinators but is not guaranteed.

- Able to support UGM’s statement of Christian faith and to share their faith with students and clients
- Must enjoy working as part of a team to accomplish overall program goals

- Able to attend pre-camp orientation and successfully complete required staff training sessions
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
- Work is performed in varying indoor and outdoor environments
- Work may require pushing, pulling, reaching, crouching, stooping, walking, twisting, carrying, depth perception and other physical activities
- Able to lift and carry 20-30 lbs
