Financial Accountability

Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities is committed to financial accountability, transparency, and stewardship.

We’re YOUR mission in the Twin Cities.

Your contributions and financial support make the ministry of Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities possible. When we work together, hungry people are fed, homeless people are sheltered, and hurting people are given the tools to change their lives.

Most important, everyone who comes to us is told about the Good News of God’s love – 7 days a week, 365 days a year, without fail.

We’re committed to financial accountability.

Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities is a Christian 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, offering hope to those experiencing homelessness, poverty, and addiction in our community.

Our open-book policy means that all of our financial information is available for review. With the majority of our support coming from the general public, your trust is honored and taken seriously.

Gift acceptance policies and guidelines

The Board of Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities has approved the following gift acceptance policies and guidelines.

Union Gospel Mission will accept unrestricted gifts, and gifts for specific programs and purposes, provided that such gifts are not inconsistent with its stated mission, purposes, and priorities. Union Gospel Mission may choose not to accept certain gifts for several reasons, including that the gift is too restrictive in purpose or difficult to administer, or gifts are for purposes outside the mission of Union Gospel Mission. The Gift Acceptance Committee of Union Gospel Mission shall make all final decisions on the restrictive nature of a gift, and its acceptance or refusal.

The purpose of these policies and guidelines is as follows:

  1. To protect the interests of the donor and of Union Gospel Mission.
  2. To make certain all gifts to Union Gospel Mission are structured to provide maximum benefits to the donor and to Union Gospel Mission.
  3. To encourage interested donors to make gifts without encumbering their own or Union Gospel Mission’s financial or other resources.
  4. To optimize opportunities to secure gifts for Union Gospel Mission without compromising or endangering the reputation of Union Gospel Mission.
